Billingual Support Worker (Filipino)

Role: Fixed-term, part-time (term-time only)

We are seeking a dedicated Bilingual Support Worker to support the academic achievement and well-being of our Filipino students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the enrollment and pastoral needs of Filipino students.
  
• Meet with students to support transitions to WHS, identify goals and assist with post-secondary transitions.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to promote effective learning strategies.
• Work with parents/caregivers to support student goals. 
  

Requirements:

• Fluency in Tagalog and English.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build professional relationships with students, staff and parents/caregivers.
• Ability to work calmly and with clarity with students of all ages and their families.
• Understanding of, and connections within the local Filipino community is an advantage.

This is a fixed-term, part-time position, offering 10 hours per week during term time, from 20 April to 20 November. There is some flexibility with working hours and the specific schedule can be discussed with the successful candidate.

Applicants must hold valid working rights in New Zealand. The pay rate will be as per the Support Staff in Schools' Collective Agreement Teacher Aide Pay Scale at Grade B-C, Step 3, $28.75 per hour.
