Teacher of Te Reo Māori
Due to the unfortunate loss of our Kaiako Reo Māori to an important iwi & community role, we are seeking a new kaiako to enable continuation of matauranga Māori up to NCEA Level 3 and Scholarship. Kaupapa Maori is supported at WHS with our local supporting hapū, our Whānau advisory Group, a Kaihāpai Māori in the Senior Leadership team, and Māori student council. More information about Kaupapa Māori at WHS can be found on our website at https://www.wakatipu.school.nz/maori.html
The ability to teach Te Reo Māori to NCEA Level 3 and Scholarship is preferred. Please state other specialist subjects. The role could also include responsibility for Kapa Haka (1PMMA) and being a Kaiārahi for our Māori and Pasifika students (1PMMA).
Wakatipu High School’s vision is to deliver Aotearoa New Zealand’s best all-round education. We are looking for a great educator to join our collaborative and forward-thinking school and learning area. The successful applicant will be excited by the opportunity to deliver a future-focused and holistic education in a flexible learning environment - they will be pedagogically progressive, student-centred, have a growth mindset, form effective professional relationships, and be keen to contribute to the all-round education of our students.
Wakatipu High School is a well-resourced, co-educational school with a growing roll of more than 1450 students, situated in Queenstown in the stunning Whakatipu Basin.
We look forward to receiving applications for this important role. Kā Mauka Whakatipu.
